Can I volunteer in your classroom? What can I do?
YES! Please do! There are many opportunities to choose from (just make sure you've filled out the district volunteer form beforehand:
Room Mom
Field trip supervision
Real Reader Fridays
Organize class party, set up and/or party supplies donated
Snack Tub donation
Weekly/Bi-Weekly small group reading or math help
As needed help: Take home cutting laminated pages, assembling project prep, grading papers
Read tests to a student
Give spelling tests each Friday
Read to student who needs extra TLC
Teach a short mini lesson about your career or a subject you know a lot about

How do I get ahold of you?Â
First preference, email me at HHemmert@kunaschools.org. If it is during the school day, please know that it can be very difficult for me to check my emails throughout the day. If you need to pick your child up from school, please let me know asap and call the school. Our secretaries are awesome and pass along the note to me.
If you need to speak with me in person, you're welcome to stop by after school on T, Th or F before 4:30 PM. Please contact me at least 2 hours before stopping by so I can make sure I'm available and prepared for what you need. I'm also happy to set up an appointment at a different time during the day. We can meet in person or via Google Meet. We can set the date and time through email.
When is the best time to get ahold of you?
I check my email every morning before school, at lunch (11:45 - 12:20), during prep (1:25 - 2:05) and after my after-school duty. If you need answered sooner than that, please send me a text, as I will check my phone during lunch and prep time. Please know that you are welcome to email me late at night or on the weekends but there is no guarantee I will be available to see it and respond until Monday morning. Contact regarding changes to how your child is getting home that day must be sent through the office! Please call the front office directly and Patti or Liz will send down your message. There is no guarantee I'll be able to see an email or text from you about ride changes, the day of.
